	SHOWPRINT II.4 - Copyright 1988 Brian Conrad
	------------------------------------------

SHOWPRINT II is a full-feature IFF picture file screen dump utility.
It can display and print all sizes of pictures including those larger
than the screen. It allows you to adjust printer output in three
modes: ASPECT, FULL, and CUSTOM output. You can also print your
pictures vertically or horizontally. You may also print them in
Black and White, Grey Scale, or Color (with a color printer, of
	course).

SHOWPRINT II will also print PageSetter IFF files without any breaks
which I know will be handy for those of you with Star Gemini 10x and
	SG10 printers.

The catch is that I'm not including any documentation on this program.
Registered users will receive complete documentation for the program
as well as tips on printing IFF picture files.

To become a registered user you only need to send $5 check or money
	order to:

		DataWise Technologies
		P.O. Box 62
		Touchet, WA 99360

If you have more questions, comments, criticisms, or complaints, I
may be reached on GEnie as BDCONRAD or People Link as BCONRAD.
You may also reach me at the Blue Mountain Gazette BBS (Walla Walla,
	Washington) 509-529-5226 (24hours 300/1200baud).

Feel free to upload these files to any board or online service as long
as all notices remain intact and these boards or services do not make
any pretense that they are the owner of these files. This file may
also be included in any collection of public domain software as long
as no more than $10 is charged for the distribution of the disk.

        ERRATA:
        ------
SHOWPRINT II version 2 now features Overscan mode for viewing
pictures as large as the screen. Select the Overscan mode in any
picture that displays the 4-way pointer and the picture will fill
the screen in whatever dimensions are larger than screensize
(width, height, or both). Hit the space bar to cancel Overscan.

Version 3 flushes memory of the printer.device driver when a
picture dump is aborted. This means that the ABORT feature now
works safely. Version 3 has a boredered main screen to get rid
of the "messy" title bar that the BORDERLESS flag gave me.

Version 4 corrects numerous bugs with previous versions. SHOWPRINT II
now behaves in a multi-tasking environment without slowing down your
other tasks. I've reverted to the borderless screen again so borders
don't show up during your presentations. The "phantom" pointer is now
gone from pictures larger than the screen. Version 4 also exits the
program properly if it can't load a file due to lack of memory.

Note that I attempted to speed up the picture loading but to
no avail. Much of the slowness of loading 640x400 pictures is
probably due to the interlace mode slowing things down. Other
programs may not open the screen until the the bitmap is loaded
into memory. I am at this time contemplating a rewrite for
the display section of ShowPrint. It is currently using
a SuperBitMap which is only necessary for pictures that can be
scrolled. The rewrite will only use a SuperBitMap Window if
the picture is larger than standard viewing area.

What's next? Faster loads (requires a complete rewrite), the ability
to print different parts of the picture and numerous other things that
I might think up. Version 2.5 will be made available as soon as
there are 250 registered users. At this time there are only 40
	registered users.
